We've found this:

http://ukcaving.com/board/index.php

http://ukcaving.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

There's something familiar about it that we just can't put our webbed finger on  ;D

Hmmm, I can see that you obviously have a great interest in Irish cave diving, are you sure the lure of rock is't pulling you from steel :D

Actually, to be fair, that site is primarily 'dry' caving, and not cave diving. Yes, there are a few of us members there, and they do have diving sections, but that was because there were not ay really appropraite places for cave 'divers'...until now :P Have a look through the Irish sections, there is more support on here both on the forum and wiki, and yet both areas are younger on here. See, we love you truely :D

Though, that site is still useful for help with the dry sections and geology of caves etc.

We think the point we were trying to make was that perhaps ukcaving.com was a more appropriate place for Letz's info on diving in Welsh mines (hassle them for a cave diving category on their forum, start a cave diving section on their wiki) but we're open to being told we are wrong.

Its YOUR forum - let US know what you'd like us to do.  ;)

Have a pleasant day.

They have a cave diving forum already and a lot of cave divers on there!

I think the ukCaving Wiki would be a better place for such a project, as it would need cave divers from Britain to supply the entries.  We are rather insular here and out in the sticks...  ::)

I don't think there is anything yet comparable to the Irish Caves Database, but i think such a project will work best when it is local and served by local divers.  Also it meets Irish needs in the absence of any formal cave diving organisation here which publishes regular sump indexes and the like, as the CDG do for England and Wales (maybe Scotland too, i dunno).  The risk would also be of treading on someone's toes...  ;D

My apologies, I misunderstood.

And I agree with keeping it an 'Irish' database 'cause were special :)

I can understand that. I just thought that, as there are quite a few Irish cave divers also diving the British Isles it was information that could be shared here.
That and I can only cope with so many forums  :-\ and I thought the wiki database was a smashng idea, a bit like SWM and their wreck database

I'm sure handy info outside Ireland will be imparted via trip reports and personal messaging anyway  :)

Can I join in the the other forums now, even though I haven't dived any Irish wrecks? ;)

UTV this Friday night 10pm "Deep Sea Mysteries"
Watch that as it will have an Irish wreck and even a couple of people from this fourm and that's you all qualified to be an Irish wreckie :)

I don't think I can get UTV  :(
