I heard that DCS doesn't exist in the southern hemisphere. Its to do with the rotation of the earth or something like that. They do have another ailment called SCD however. Watch out for that. Just throw another rack on the barbie. You'll be grand.  ;D

Actually believe it or not you could be onto something - a podcast or live web broadcast for the folk who can't make the talks. The theatres in Trinners are pretty well set up tech wise and being a uni there are a quite a few nerdy smartypants types in the club so I'll have a think about whether we could do something. The presenters of course would have the power of veto!

I'll get back to you on that

Its not lying to your computer, unless you hang it off the boat at the end of the dive. Its setting up the parameters to give it a more accurate reading for the dive profile I am doing so it tallies with my dive slates and I don't bend it. I know it works for me but could not endorse it , as we all have different tolerances to decompression , hence bends within the tables. However I have done over one thousand daves between 70 & 120metres using GF90/98 and changing setpoint from 1.3 to 1.4 on the ascent and then switching to air (on computer only) between 40 & 50 metres . Ascent is at a steady 10m/min and last stop at 6m or deeper if rough. The only down side so far is that I have bent every dive computer that has been loaned me , so they have to hang off the boat.      Keep it safe people and don't have nightmares.   :flame:
