Matt,
i am a cavediver and live in Cork, But most of my cave diving is done up in the galway area. There is not many caves down here worth talking about. We have a few leads near mitchelstown but more promising are up in the burren region. There probably wont be any diving or exploring for the next few months as all are flooded out at the moment. Once things start to pick up give me a bell and I can point you in the right direction with regards to training and the area,s you could check out once qualified unless you have some already. Martin farr is probably the best bet for training unless you want to travel to warmer climates like Florida mexico etc.
ok

Hi Matt

To get started with cave diving there is very few options in Ireland.

Your best bet would be to do a course with Martin Farr (Farrworld.co.uk), he runs courses in Ireland once a year asweI.

There is plenty of cave diving to be done in Ireland but starting off can and always will be tricky due to the harsh conditions of most caves here.

If you just want to tag along to see whats involved, your more than welcome to join me once the weather gets better.

Regards

Jim
