I didnt realise that a J of O2 was so cheap. Is that medical, diving or welding grade? Not that i'm convinced it makes a difference.

E17.50 for a J of oxygen? Ive been charged 4 cents a ltr in some places. Best price for O2 seems to be 1.1 pence which is reasonable, some places take the piss.

Thats not inclusive of VAT @ 21.5% nor does it include cylinder rental nor does it include the price of a booster, mixing panel, compressor, decanting whips, filters, contents gauges, analysers etc etc. Ask any home blender what they've REALLY spent and maybe 2c a litre for 02 doesn't sound so bad  ;D

Last time I checked with BOC in Dublin this was the price list and I reckon prices have gone up in the meantime:

J cylinder of medical grade 02 @ 136bar x 50ltrs = €17.40
Annual lease on the cylinder = €73.70

J cylinder of grade A Helium @ 200bar x 50ltrs = €377.50
Annual lease on the cylinder = €107.80

Delivery / collection charge = €38

All prices are exclusive of VAT @ 21.5 %

point taken, 2cents i'm more than happy with. The main expense that puts me off home blending is the cost of the compressor.
