Is it maybe Black Head or in the area? Id expect kelpy to 20m ish - loads of small sea life, then boulder slope to 60m plus.
Tides will be beyond complicated, but a nice dive and a cracking training spot for a bit of depth progression.

Na it's on the other side of the island. You'll find Bruce's Cave just below Altacarry Lighthouse (East lighthouse), easy enough to find as the cave can only be reached by boat. I've dived it once about 15 years ago can't remember much about the reef though it was shallow and pretty kelpy. There is a reef to the south east of the cave and there's a trawler called the Gavina wrecked there. The engine block can sometimes be visible at lw and the rest of the wreck is lying at the bottom of a reef in about 20m - havn't dived it so can't comment on that. If you head a bit offshore from the lighthouse it gets very tidal as this is one of the main tidal races in the north channel called McDonnell's Race after several McDonnell brothers were lost there a few hundred years back.
James.
