Eurotek 2012
« on: January 12, 2011, 09:54:08 AM »
Notice from Roz Lunn:

With 91 weeks (and counting) till October 2012, I'm pleased to confirm we've "had the meeting" and EUROTEK.2012 is on. The date you want to save is Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th October. Leigh Bishop has already started researching a wish list of speakers and will be announcing these closer to the event.

Things must have gone well with Eurotek 2010 - they seem keen  ;)

Roz Lunn, one of the organisers posted this on some of the UK forums:

"As promised in an earlier post I've now got the dates for EUROTEK.2012.

Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th October 2012

Halls 9, 10, 11
The International Convention Centre
Broad Street
Birmingham, B1
England

Don't know prices yet as we're still nailing down contracts and working on getting more sensible rates etc, and I haven't seen any menus yet. FYI we are also planning to have a disco after the Gala Dinner."

Its a ways off yet but there'll be more details here in due course.

I reckon the organisers must have seen Fintan coming back to the hotel after the night out on broad street and decided the gala dinner was not enough craic :-)

Funny that - it must be a coincidence - I heard that an Irishman standing in the middle of the road sometimes stops traffic over there - but I may have heard it wrong...

What way are people travelling to the show? Where are ye staying? Are ye going to the Gala dinner?

Im thinking of going so any hints/ tips accepted!

According to their facebook page, tickets go on sale in June.

I'm heading over this year for sure as the last one sounded like great craic.

I am going. Tickets should be on sale in June. Fly in on the Saturday morning red-eye and then home at about 7pm or so on Sunday. There was a great deal on at the City Inn hotel last year but its been sold and rebranded as the Mint Hotel and prices have gone through the roof. I reckon either Novotel or Jurys - somewhere on Broad Street anyway. Probably won't go to the gala dinner but head out on to Broad Street with the lads on the "Fintan Lowney Challenge Event" - its an Adventure Race of sorts..... :spin:
