Depends on what you're looking for. I prefer my instructors to have had a few tough days at the office so they can pass on what they witnessed first hand rather than what they have read somewhere.  :spin:

Think people mistook me on what I meant. Thanks Dec for clearing it up. I would 100% agree with going for an instructor who as the best experience possible. Also I know Artur is a great guy and for any cave diving training I'd ever think about he'd be my 1st choice instructor! I just meant that i must be mad to think bout cave diving after stories like that!!

it took my breath and was gripped by your discripitions of your own mortality and assumed your enevitable ending to be in a cave . and that hit home for me

No worries Eoin, that's how I understood you in a first place:)
And YES, you must be mad to think bout cave diving after stories like that... ::)

I was in Pollatoomary 2 days ago, the vis was excellent , a solid 1m  so I could have a proper look at what had happened.  It was an eerie feeling , the place looked like a crime scene. I have removed all the lines from the cave and put one single file down to -40m where I tied in to my undamaged 08' guideline. But in a good visibility I realised that the place is even more complex than I thought last time, especially at -30m which is one big motherfucker boulder choke. The cave certainly deserves more respect than I paid to her in the past...

Thats exactly what bothers me, it diminishes the final effect ;-)
I'm trying to find some way around it... :demon:

Wow. That was tense. Welcome back arthur. That was unreal.
Only someone like you could have made it out of there alive.
