Hey Guys,
There's spaces available on the weekend 20-21 August in Baltimore [THIS WEEKEND COMING!]
The tides are ideal for this weekend - it's a neap tide and so we can do U260 as the morning dive on Saturday, Kowloon Bridge as the afternoon dive on the Saturday and then again U260 as the morning dive on the Sunday - weather permitting and subject to the numbers. It is an early enough start on the Saturday - we meet at the dive centre at 0730 and the boat leaves the harbour at 0815. Sunday is a bit better and we meet in the dive centre at 0830 to leave the harbour at 0845 (all gear can stay on the boat except the tanks, so loading up shouldn't take long).
We're diving with Aquaventures and they need a minimum of 6 on the boat to run the dives. They can take a maximum of 12 as far as I'm aware. There's 2 of us booked in at the moment.
They do B&B as well, and the rates are EUR 37.50 per person per night for B&B and EUR 65 per day diving. Air and Nitrox fills are extra.
Do let me know if you'd like to dive with us, or contact Rianne at Aquaventures directly (aquaventures.ie, 028 20511).
For those who don't know - U260 is a slack water dive only, and the seabed is at 40-43m depending on the tide. She's fully intact, has a 60 degrees list to the port side and is a brilliant dive. Kowloon Bridge is the largest diveable wreck in Europe (and some say in the Northern Hemisphere) and it's also a great dive, a bit shallower. Seabed is at 35m, but the max depth around the wreck is only around 31-32 as there's loads of iron ore lying around. You can find deeper spots especially when you go inside her, and there's plenty of wide openings now that the bow section is torn off.
Jerry's boat is very nice, and it has a lift on the stern, so no climbing ladders with your twinsets/RB's and stages!
Take care,
mike
UPDATE: Wrong month in the dates. I was planning some other things too at the same time, and got all confused... It's this weekend coming, 20-21 August 2011.
