Lets hope it is a good outcome, seemingly the cave flooded - lets hope he is in a air pocket

Best regards

does anyone know what cave he was diving?  I wonder are the news reports mixing up a cave "getting flooded" and it being flooded to begin with.   Most caves around gort are underground rivers - so not many dry sections.   Thoughts are with him.

Ive a mate in the the Rescue Services and it has been confirmed as Artur, the Irish Cave Rescue lads are involved and they think there’s a chance of successful rescue with all the inlets there is in the caves there. Next 24 hours will be critical.  Lets hope he is sitting safe and waiting for them.
Cheers,
Graham

Here`s hoping!
I wouldnt put much faith in any article that says divers breathe oxygen tanks.

Good luck to the rescue team, I hope you come across him sitting somewhere dry waiting for a few more tanks.

does anyone know what cave he was diving?  I wonder are the news reports mixing up a cave "getting flooded" and it being flooded to begin with.   Most caves around gort are underground rivers - so not many dry sections.   Thoughts are with him.

From here;
Conor McGrath is a warden with the Irish Cave Rescue Organisation:
“He was undertaking an exploratory dive to try and extend the known limits of this particular cave. He was a very experienced diver and had been into this cave before. The cave is compeltely flooded under any conditions so the fact that is was raining or flooding didn’t really concern them, that was actually to their advantage for what they wanted to do.”
