Hello There in Ireland,

I am new to the form but I have a burning question.

I am looking for cave divers in Ireland who are aktively diving caves in Ireland. I know there are cave that are diveable and that there are divers diving them but I cannot find any of them. The reason I am looking is that I will be in Ireland again this summer and I would like to go caving for a change. Does anyone know of any dive clubs/centers or cave divers aktiv in Ireland?

Would be gratefull for any information in this direction.

Cheers!

Great question! Would like to know the answer myself... I know of dry caves but haven't found anything on wet caves. Also are they actually caves or sumps?

There's some info on Irish cave diving in Martyn Farr's book "The Darkness Beckons". A great read but I'll stick to the open water for the moment :-)

I know Martyn runs cave courses from Cavern to FC over in Co. Clare. He did one last August and he's planning to do one this year again.

Hi:
I did the PSA Cavern Diver last year with Martyn Farr and will bo doing the Cave 1 this august with him as well. We did the course in Mayo and there are some great caves/sumps (a sump is a flooded cave).  I am looking to get some cave divers together once I get the level 1 to make regular dives in some of the more common caves.  I suppose the reason why there is not a lot of info on the where abouts of the good ones, is fear of an accident where someone who isnt trained, going in and having a problem.  I'd recommend the course with Martyn as you can't get better than the guy who wrote the book!  If you are interested in diving when you get here, just drop me an email.
Cheers,
Graham

Hallo there

I do most of my diving in caves in Co Clare in the summer.
Thers's about 4 to 5 activr cave divers that i know of in Clare
All of the caves are very rainfall afected so notto much diving during the winter.
Most of the time the vis is very limited.
These caves dont realy lend to senic diving.
If you need more info jus drop me a PM.

Regards
Jim
