Where to get a decent helmet
« on: April 21, 2008, 02:22:16 PM »
Ive been looking around for a helmet for awhile now and cant even find the older kayaking ones which Ive used on Martyns courses and that are handy for attaching torches, any advice on where I can get one?
Cheers,
Graham

I was in Great Outdoors recently and they had some reasonable looking ones that would be adaptable. If you contact Ardhill (on YD) I know he got one and "adjusted" it to suit wrecking...

You could try something like this. Not sure how it could be modified but I'm sure something could be done to it.

Graham, heres the one I use for climbing & mountaineering: http://en.petzl.com/petzl/SportProduits?Produit=106

They should have this in the Great Outdoors (thats where I got mine).

Hell its good for everything: mountainbiking, skiing, driving while trying to catch a ferry so why not cavediving? :)

Looks good, few holes in the side for the torches and it'll look the part!

Graham,

See here:

http://www.robinhoodwatersports.co.uk/acatalog/Robin_Hood_WS_Wildwater_155.html

I used to use one of these, the Competition, you can drill extra holes in it and because they are made to get wet, they last ages.

If yer bonce is slightly larger I would go for the Midi.

Cheers,

Dave Cooper.

Hi Graham,

If you're looking for something simple, lightweight, compact and proven (altough not very fancy :(  )  I belive this is the way to go:
